From My Daily Diary

From My Daily Diary :

This is my tour detail of more than one month long tour to different parts of India and Nepal from 27th of August to 30th September 2010. I shared it on Facebook as my daily diary at that time in my old Facebook account. After completing the tour, I collected all the daily posts in one place and it is now as my note in this new FB account.
.........................................

Friends, I'm on my way to pilgrimage. I'm with my parents. We are 38 people in our group. We are travelling by a reserved bus. Yesterday (27th Aug, 2010) we visited Janakpur and stayed there and today we are staying here in Bihar. I've changed my SIM card. Now I'm using an Indian SIM card of AirTell. Tomorrow we are visiting Gaya. We've planned about a month long tour to different parts of Nepal and India. After Gaya, we are visiting different places like Prayag, Varanasi, Vrindaban, Mathura, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath and many more. While returning from India, we've planned to enter the Nepali territory from the Far Western point i.e. Mahakali and visiting different parts of Nepal like Lumbini, Pokhara, Manakamana, Devghat and we may also visit Kathmandu but we haven't made any clear cut decision about visiting Kathmandu yet. Similarly, we may also visit New Delhi and Kurukshetra in India if possible.

Friends, we started our tour (for our pilgrimage) on 27th of August and stayed in Janakpur that night and the next day we arrived Harihar Kshetr in Bihar and stayed there over night and the next morning we took a holy bath in the Ganges. Now it is about 8:45 Indian time and now we are leaving for Gaya.

.............................................

Today we arrived Gaya at about 2:45 Indian time. Here we are staying in an inn. Tomorrow (30th Aug.) we are leaving for Bodhgaya and staying in Sasram at night.

29 August at 07:50 .............................................

On 30th August, we visited different holy places in Gaya (Bihar) and my parents performed SHRADDHA on the river bank and in the afternoon we left for Bodhgaya and visited Mahabodhi temple. We also saw the spot where, under a tree, Siddhartha Gautam attained enlightenment. Although we had a plan to stay at Sasaram (a place which is about 120 km east of Varanasi) after having DARSHAN of Tara Chandi temple, we didn't stay there. And after having DARSHAN of Tara Chandi we left for Varanasi. When we arrived Varanasi, it was about 8:45 p.m. and we stayed in a lodge. Next morning (on 31st August) in Varanasi, we took a dip into the holy Ganges at Manikarnika Ghat and then we visited the famous Vishwanath temple. We are also staying here tonight.

Tuesday, 31 August 2010 at 08:27 .............................................

On the 1st of September, we got up early in the morning and left for Vindhya Basini temple in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. After that we came to Prayag and had a holy bath on the confluence of the rivers. Today (1st Sept.) we are staying in Allahabad. HAPPY JANMASTAMI !!! JAI SHREE KRISHNA !!!

.............................................

2nd Sept ........ Arrived Agra at about 1:00 p.m. and visited the Taj Mahal (one of the seven wonders of the world), a monument built by Saha Jahan in memory of his beloved queen. Then arrived Vrindaban and stayed here.

3rd-7th Sept............ Visited different temples in Vrindaban on Sept 3 and the next day (on 4th Sept) arrived Haridwar and stayed there for 3 days. And on 7th Sept, visited Rishikesh and on the same day left for Nainabag in Tihari Garwal via Dehradun and Mussoorie, a hill station.

07 September at 10:07 .............................................

7th-13th Sept ............. We stayed at Nain Bagh for 2 days due to obstacle on the road from both sides caused by landslide. Staying at Nain Bagh was more difficult. No suitable and enough rooms, no more facility, no enough drinking water and so on and so forth and then we moved to Maror (about 3 km away from Nain Bagh) hoping that it will be better for us to stay there and stayed there for 2 days due to landslide. On the 11th of Sept, we reached and stayed at Janaki Chatti and the next morning we went to Yamunotri and on the same day returned from there and left for Kharadi to spent the night there. The next morning (on the 13 of Sept) we left for Gangotri but we were disturbed by landslide everywhere. We are still not sure where we are going to stay tonight.

.............................................

On the 13th and the 14th of Sept, we had to stay at Brahmakhal and wait for the road to be cleared and on the 15th of Sept we arrived Uttar Kanshi and stayed in a lodge.

15 September at 09:25 .............................................

Got up early in the morning on the 16th of Sept and visited Gangotri and then again returned Uttar Kanshi to spend the night there. Tomorrow we are leaving for Kedarnath Dham.

16 September at 09:30 .............................................

Today (17th Sept) we had a plan to reach Gauri Kund but we couldn't do so because of the obstacles caused by landslide at many places along the road. And thus we had to stay at a small village lying between Uttar Kanshi and Gauri Kund.

17 September at 10:58 .............................................

18th Sept became to be the most boring day for us-continuous rain, landslide at many places, more than 200 vehicles in a queue. Thus we could proceed only a few kms (about 21 kms) forward from morning to evening today.

18 September at 07:10 .............................................

We had to stay at Dugadda for 3 days (on 18, 19 and 20th of Sept) and wait for the weather to be cleared. We may leave Dugadda tomorrow (21st of Sept) if weather sides with us.

20 September at 07:23 .............................................
****************************
The weather being clear, we left Dugadda on 21st of Sept at 9:45 a.m. and arrived at Sitapuri towards the evening and stayed there. The next morning, most of us went to Kedarnath Dham on foot (about 19 km walk from Sitapuri and 14 km from Gauri Kund). Some elderly people in our group hired horses or ponies to reach there. Some other types of means of transport locally known as Dandi Sawari and Kandi Sawari are also seen being used in this hilly region. We stayed in Kedarnath Dham that night. The next day (23rd Sept) we left Kedarnath Dham and arrived Nagrasu in Rudra Prayag towards the evening and stayed in a lodge. We'll have reached Badrinath Dham by tommorrow evening.

.............................................

24th-28th Sept .............. Got to Badrinath Dham on 24th of Sept and the next morning my parents performed religious ritual known as BRAHMA KAPALI SHRADDHA. After that having DARSHAN of Badrinath temple we reached Bajpur in Chamoli district to stay there over the night and the next morning we left for Kotwali in Bijnor district (UP). We had our meal there and again went a few km away (towards the eastern direction) and spent the night there. On the 27th of Sept every face seemed to shine with joy and happiness in the sense that we were going to enter Nepal soon. Yes friends, today (28th Sept) we've just entered Nepal from Krishnanagar check post in Kapilvastu (Although we had previously planned to enter the Nepali territory from the Far Western point i.e. Mahakali, we didn't do so). We are so happy to be here in Nepal after a month long tour to different parts of India. Actually it was our pilgrimage. We also intend to visit some important places in Nepal.

.............................................

29th Sept .......... It was only in the evening that we left Krishnanagar (Kapilvastu, Nepal) because we had to stay there for a long time due to some legal provisions on the custom check post (because our route permit had expired 2 days earlier). After leaving Krishnanagar at about 7:30 p.m. we reached Rupandehi at about 11:15 p.m. and spent the night there.

Wednesday at 10:44 .............................................

30th Sept .......... Friends, it's the end of our tour. Today we visited the birth place of Lord Buddha in Lumbini in the morning and in the afternoon we reached Devghat and finally we came to Manakamana temple. We especially enjoyed going on the cable car. It's now 10:00 p.m. We are going home by bus. We'll have reached home by tomorrow morning.

Thursday at 09:03 .............................................

Friends, we've completed our tour to different parts of India and Nepal. It took us more than a month. We are so happy. The followings are the places we visited: Janakpur, Lumbini, Manakamana temple and Devghat in Nepal, Hariharnath Kshetra, Punapuna, Gaya, Bodh Gaya and Sasaram in Bihar, Vindhya Basini temple (in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh), Prayag (Allahabad), Varanasi, Agra, Mathura, Vrindaban and Gokul in UP and Haridwar, Rishikesh, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in UttaraKhanda (UK). Besides these, we visited other several places.
